Your First Visit

When you schedule your first appointment you will receive a comprehensive intake packet to fill out. These forms ask questions about your current state of health, past illnesses, as well as your family history because the holistic approach of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) takes everything about you into account. Your current symptoms may not seem related to past health issues, but our bodies are complex landscapes and everything that happens to them leaves its mark in some form or fashion. Some marks are obvious and easy to address while others take time to understand and resolve.

After reviewing your intake form we will discuss your condition and come up with a treatment plan to best meet your health goals. You can expect approximately 10-15 needles used on average. Once inserted, I will leave you to lie comfortably for 20-25 minutes. Many people find acupuncture treatment deeply relaxing, and it is not uncommon for patients to fall asleep during this time. Additional modalities like TuiNa, GuaSha, and Moxibustion are utilized as needed, usually at the end of a treatment once all needles are removed.
